Beneficiary Designations

You can designate a beneficiary on each INVEST account you hold so that your instructions on who would receive the proceeds from that account are clear in the event of death. We recommend you consult with your estate attorney before designating your beneficiaries (especially if it's someone other than your spouse). In order to list them in your MYRA INVEST accounts, follow these quick steps below.

Step 1: Log into your account in the MYRA app.

Step 2: Click the three dots on the top right of your screen so a menu appears in the top right.

Step 3: Click on 'Investment Profile'.

Note: If you click on the information circle, you can see many things you can do in your investment profile.

Step 4: Toggle to the fifth option, 'Beneficiaries'.

Step 5: Add or update your beneficiary information.

  • If there's no beneficiary currently listed, you can add one by clicking on the "+" sign to add an account beneficiary.

  • If you previously added your account beneficiary, it will be visible on this screen. To update your contact, click the three dots to the right of his/her/their name, and update their information per the next screen.

Step 6: Add information on your beneficiary's (or beneficiaries') name and contact details.

Step 7: Check your email that evening. Once you make the changes in your MYRA app, they will be updated in the system. Every evening (at 9PM ET), MYRA consolidates your updates and will email you the TD Ameritrade forms for your e-signature. Once TD Ameritrade receives your signature, they'll make the changes for you and send you an email to notify you that the update is complete.
